If there is an accident at the pool/facility, the following procedure must be followed:
1 – Club officials/teachers/coaches to ensure everyone is safe.
2 – Inform the pool\facility staff who will assess the situation and then follow their emergency plans. The swimmers and members will be directed by the facility’s staff.
3 – All coaches\teachers carry telephone numbers of their swimmers. The swimmer’s parents must be recalled immediately.
4 – An accident report must be completed.
5 – The incident must be recorded in the Club Accident / Incident books through the Club Administrator. If appropriate the club’s Welfare Officer must be notified.
6 – Inform club insurer (if appropriate this will be done by the Club Administrator or the Welfare Officer).
